Wimax will eventually win, coz the core tech is not that different. My point
in the previous post was that it is not sufficient to merely mention the
Verizon's inclination.

qualcomm在4g上要lose big了。他家UMB在北美都没人用，不知道日本韩国有没有可能
用。

is the only bet. After Clearwire and Sprint separation, Sprint will most
likely go with mainstream operators with LTE. Verizon Wireless already did
because it is the joint venture of Vodafone and Verizon.
There is no real operator willing to try the WiMax in North America anymore.

and Antti Toskala gave a presentation about
LTE. Of course Wimax was questioned by the audiance.
Their answer is that Wimax can't beat LTE, but
may be a strong competitor of TDSCDMA in future.
Almost all european operators stick on LTE, which
naturally evolutes from GSM/WCDMA.

necessary mean WiMax is a feasible technology for operators.
Most of the operators still rely 3GPP as main reference point.Operaters need
the full industry chain behind the standard, not just the paper standard.
3GPP2 is going to merge with 3GPP soon which means American is losing the
control over the real 3G standardization process also.
How is WiMax group going to work with 3GPP? It seems that 3GPP is learning

但最后是Wi赢还是LTE，跟技术关系不大，要看谁来主导推动
