Engineering，IEEE就是Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers 的缩
写啊，所以EE仅指电子工程有些片面了。 |

power当然也在这里讨论，只不过topic不多罢了。

很多学校有ee,但没有power. |

美国学power的人太少了。

发帖数: 4809 | 14 Power actually is the oldest branch in EE. Or you can call it the mother of
EE, just like mechanical engineering is the mother of all engineering. In
history, EE in China in the year between 1900-1950 is used to called “电机
工程”, which refers to power systems and machines. The term “电气工程”is
actually derived from the same Janpenese word (Denki) which nowadays is used
to represent a broader sense electrical engineering including all branches.

Actually quite some power guys here on the board.
EE is Electrical Engineer, and covers all area related.
There is absolutely no need to have separate Computer Engineering, Signal
Processing, Electromagnetic, Control Engineering, Optical,
Telecommunication, etc.etc board.

弱电是电力电子之类的。 不过在国外一般都是归在EE里的。 |

发帖数: 24 | 18 也不算夕阳吧，只不过做的人比较少，危险，试验设备又很贵，不像通信，一台电脑就
可以搞几乎所有的方向了。而且电气方面理论很成熟了，学生多是做project，真正做
理论研究的人很少。 不过，VT的电气工程应该很强的吧，尤其是power electronics |
