a********5 发帖数: 2 | 1 I am applying for citizenship through naturalization and have the following
questions:
1. I received a bill this year because there is an interim property tax I
didn't pay on time. After I received the bill, I paid it right away. For
part 12, #6: Do you owe any overdue Federal, state, or local taxes? Then I
should choose "no" because I already paid the overdue property part.
2. Part 12, question 1: have you ever claimed to be a U.S. citizen (in
writing or any other way). I think when file federal tax (form 1040), the
tax representative said I can file as us citizen, does that count?
3. Part 12, question 8: have you called yourself a "non-U.S. resident" on a
federal, state, or local tax return since you became a lawful permanent
resident? If I filed the Form 1040, that should mean I claimed myself as a U
.S. resident, right?
4. If spouse hold a nonimmigrant visa, there is no A number, correct?
Thank you very much in advance! | c**2 发帖数: 8496 | 2 1. if you don't have any outstanding balance, no, you don't owe now.
2. filing 1040 is not related to citizenship or immigrant status.
3. you are fine.
4. If spouse has an approved immigration petition, he/she may have A number,
even when she/he is currently in a valid non-immigrant visa status. |
