Good afternoon XXX,
This email message is in reply to your inquiry regarding the Form I-485,
Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, which your
constituent XXXXX, filed with USCIS on July 6, 2015.
The status of this case is unchanged from our last correspondence. From a
recent review of USCIS records, we can confirm that the background check
process regarding this permanent residency case is not yet complete.
Consequently, the adjudication of XXXX’s Form I-485 is currently awaiting
background check clearance.
Taking into consideration the seriousness and complexity of the issues that
are reviewed in the background check process and the resources that are
necessary for its completion, we are unable to speculate when this process
will be complete in an immigration case. However, based on the review of
USCIS records, it appears that the background check process in XXXX’s Form
I-485 case may be lengthy. While we are unable to determine the date on
which a USCIS decision or other notice of action will be issued in this case
, we would be pleased to provide another case status update based on a
future follow-up inquiry from your office and available information after 90
-120 days from the receipt of this email.
