发帖数: 18 | 1 大家好，有几个关于renew AP的菜鸟问题，已考古，确实没找到答案。
距离我目前的AP的expiration date还有三个月多一点，我打算renew AP。
1。看到两种关于renew的时间要求的不同说法。一种说要在expiration date之前120天
之前，一种说只能在expiration date之前120天之内，到底哪一种说法对？我离
expiration date还有大概100天，还能renew吗？
2。 Renew AP和file new AP application有啥区别？找遍了i-131表和它的
instruction也没找到哪里提到renew。请问是跟上回完全一样的方式file 一个new
application吗？如果没区别，那上面提到的120天到底有啥意义？
3。按i-131的要求来看申请AP必须要有必要的理由，表上提到的有employment reason,
education reason, 和 humanitarian reason。只能是这三种吗？如果只说回国看父
母行吗，还需要附啥证明吗？大家都用什么理由，提供了什么文件？

应该是只能在expiration date之前120天后，expire之后也应该能，所以你的肯定能。

我查了我的131表，的确part 2 只能选1.d。但是你为什么要纠结这个呢。你得按规定
来啊。虽然你好像是申请一个新的，但是他们有你旧的记录。如果太早了，那对不起，
退回申请。
3。按i-131的要求来看申请AP必须要有必要的理由，表上提到的有employment reason,
part 2 只能选1.d说了你要travel，这不正好符合你的理由吗。
不要纠结太多，131表挺好填的，他要什么你就填什么就是了。

尽量早办，最好一进入120天内就递交。

我并不是纠结renew vs. new applicaiton，只是不太清楚二者在申请程序上有无区别
。现在看来是没区别的。
还想再问一下申请AP所需理由，i131表是这么说的：
On a separate sheet of paper, explain how you qualify for an Advance Parole
Document, and what circumstances warrant issuance of advance parole. Include
copies of any documents you wish considered (see instructions).
Instruction是这么说的：
If you are in US and seek an Advane Parole Document, you may apply if
You have a pending application to adjust status, Form I-484, and you seek to
travel abroad for "urgent humanitarian reasons" or in furtherane of a "
significant public benefit", which may include a personal or family
emergency or bona fide business reasons.
听起来好像要求还挺严，所以不知如果只说探亲是否可以。如果需要更strong的理由，
大家都用的啥理由，提供了啥document。
另外，USCIS网上的i131表头显示该表expires on 3/31/2016。大家4/1后申请的是用的

在cover letter里写了
“I have a plan to go to China and stay with my family for Chinese new year
for around 50 days at the end of January, 2017, and will come back to USA
with my renewed AP. I appreciate very much if you could process the renewal
application of my EAD and AP at your earliest convenience. ”
主要原因是希望他们能批两年的有效期，而不是一年。我知道有人这样成功过。
不过，我申明一下，我的是3/1/2016交的，到现在没有批。我的绿卡已经批了，所以现
在无所谓了。
