Subject: Contributing is just one way to help our cause - Travel to DC to be
part of Lobby Day on 19th or 20th
Team- This visit will give you a good understanding how what it takes to
lobby for change and I will guarantee you that it will be a fantastic
experience. Besides, it will also give you a good understanding of where the
Immigration Voice funds are being spent – Lobbyist, Immigration lawyer to
consult on the bill, War room for lobby day, transportation….
There is a lot of momentum to towards introducing the country limit bill
very soon and I will keep you updated when we get closer. I don’t need to
explain to you on how important this lobby day is when compared to the other
ones but I will still do it.
1) This bill is our final chance for the next 2 to 3 yrs.
2) Country limit WILL bring significant relief to everyone include folks
from countries other than India and China who are on EB3.
3) You can see democracy at work: To go to the offices of Paul Ryan, Sen
. Schumer and other leaders is a great experience.
4) You will get to meet a lot of highly motivated Immigration Voice
volunteers and leadership team . There will be a reception in the Capitol
Hill which will be attended by Senators and Congressmen/Congresswomen.
5) We can have a meeting with our Govt Affairs Chief in DC and share
with him our thoughts on this bill and why it is important to support it.
6) DC has some fantastic monuments/museums and the food scene is really
good.
