Thank you for taking the time to write me and express your concerns on
accepting immigrants from China. I appreciate hearing your thoughts and
welcome the opportunity to respond to your comments.
My grandfather came to this country with nothing and faced the hostile laws
of that time, the Chinese Exclusion Act, which prohibited him from becoming
