Senior Software Engineer

Position Summary
Design, develop, and support solutions for the Manufacturing and Quality
Systems. Work closely with the Quality, Operations, and Engineering
departments and IS team members to understand and define business
requirements and processes and to apply technology in support of business
objectives. Coordinate with resources required from IS, vendors, and other
departments to implement solutions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
? Develop and support Microsoft .NET applications with minimal
supervision
? Work closely with the functional departments and IS analysts to
attain and maintain an in-depth knowledge of business processes and
procedures.
? Coordinate resources required from IS and other departments to
implement solutions. Establish and coordinate with resource owners for those
resources needed to complete projects in an efficient and timely manner.
? Perform project management and apply full life-cycle methodologies.
? Apply technical and analytical skills to interface with Oracle
eBusiness system to meet business needs.
? Apply technical and analytical skills to interface with other
corporate systems to meet business needs.
? Research and implement information systems technology where
appropriate for the functional departments.
? Provide applications design, testing, and user documentation for
the functional departments.
? Troubleshoot application, database, and network system problems.
? Perform on-call application support as necessary.
? Other duties as assigned
Skills
? General knowledge of database management and application
performance tuning.
? Analytical, detailed thinker with strong technical skills.
? Strong verbal and written communication skills.
? Good interpersonal skills. Comfortable working with operational
key users to develop and present requirements
? Strong work ethic, ability to work flexible hours, sometimes in
the evening or during weekends.
? Must be a team player, draws energy and drive in working with
others.
Desired Characteristics
Education / Experience
? B.S. degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent
experience.
? 5+ years of .NET Application Development experience.
? Minimum 3 years of Microsoft SQL programming experience
? Formal training in application development, or system development
life cycle (SDLC) methods
? Microsoft certifications desirable.
? Job experiences with Engineering, Quality and Operations
Organizations a plus.
? Experience with Oracle PL/SQL and Java programming a plus |
