p********a 发帖数: 5352 | 1 I just want to upgrade the management studio so I can connect to the remote
sql 2008 server. Those IT guys asked me to do it by myself. Can anybody give
me a clue? |

edition.
Run the setup.exe, it'll probably need to install .NET 3.5 and a hotfix.
restart computer, run setup.exe again
at the installation screen, select "installation" tab, and then "new stand-
alone installation..."
follow the screen until you see select features screen.
select Management Tools |
p********a 发帖数: 5352 | 3 Thanks but I don't have sql 2008 disk. My IT said I can upgrade it by myself
from 2005 to 2008 without additional license. Is this true? |
i****a 发帖数: 36252 | 4 If you are only talking about Management Studio, you don't need any license.
You can either
A. Download the trial version of SQL Server 2008 if you want the full
features
B. Download SQL Server 2008 Management Studio Express
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=08E52AC2-1D62-45F6-9A4A-4B76A8564A2B&displaylang=en
and SQL 2005 MS and 2008 MS can be installed side by side, so there is no "
upgrade" |
