的活，车子的维修与保养基本上都是拉到车店去做。没想到前两天自己动手换了Front
Derailleur，既省了钱又满足了小小的虚荣心，跟大家分享一下。
Front Derailleur (Ultegra 6600) downshift 出了问题，本来以为拖到车行调整一下
就可以了，车行的人看了半天说得换，告诉我部件有些变形，无法恢复原位。问得多少
钱，进去查了半天，回来说6600是老型号，店里只有6700，$80，不能保证与6600的
Rear Derailleur配，出了问题无法保修。问我愿不愿意等他们从别的地方定购6600，
我问得要多久，回答说得要一两个星期，虽然觉得久了点，可附近只有这一家店，还是
把车留下了，让他们回头打电话告诉我具体订购价格和到货时间。回家后在网上查了下
，想看看他们的开价是否太离谱，一查，6600网上$40就能买到。刚查好，店里的电话
也到了，告诉我6600价格还要贵点，$90外加$10邮费，安装费是$30。我一听马上问我
自己定购部件，让他们装，行不行，回答说，可以，但安装费得 |

舍得花时间，装个整车也是可以的，不过我想真的自个装整车的人还是不多的吧。那再
往下，你是否自个定期overhaul，自个换所有的cable，drivetrain, rear/front
derailleur, cassette, crank, chain, brake etc.
希望大家都能说说，根据自己的经验，感觉什么活技术要求高，什么活太花时间不值得
自个干。 |

FD outer limit screw does not seem to make any difference after I turned it
round after round. I can see the difference when I turn the inner limit
screw. Did I do something wrong?

where there is only one bike shop within one hour drive.

发帖数: 1994 | 10 outer limit screw 只有在线张力很大，FD go all the way out 时才有作用。
如果线在最大张力时内墙还不能碰到 limit screw, 通常是张力不足。stretch
一下线看看。

further out so that the chain does not scratch the outer wall while on the
smallest cog, we turn the outer limit screw clockwise or counter clockwise? |

to do everything myself.
It's actually fun building a bike from a bare frame up. I have cut 30+
carbon forks, put together BBs probably 70-100 times, headset maybe 40 times
.

good you are, a quality set of wheels takes at least 4 hours.

are all hassles you have to deal with. and if I don't do it at home, taking
them to the LBS is an even bigger hassle. plus, I don't trust them anyway.
maybe you can share some tips on how to make bike maintenance more enjoyable
