Fischer or Leonhardt and their followers, whoever tries to imitate Gould would
just make a fool of himself. Why? Gould's mannerism in his performance is part
of his musical identify, with which he could touch the heart of his audience.
His sound is unimitable, and his mannerism is even less so. I do not feel the
same when I listen to his recording as I actually watch him playing. Without
