Lang Lang’s much anticipated return to Beijing created much stir in this
ancient capital. There were three concerts scheduled --- a semi-pop concert in
which among other things he accompanied the Chinese pop singer Han Hong in a
song titled “My Motherland” (a concert which you can’t pay me enough to
attend), a concerto with the Chinese Philharmonic, and a solo recital, which
is the one I ultimately attended.
