California Assembly Member Information
SCA 5 will first be discussed in the Committee on Education and the
Committee on Elections. If the Committees do not recommend the bill for
passage, there will not even be a vote in the Assembly. Let's focus on the
Committees now.
The Committee on Elections seems to be a promising focal point. The Chair,
Paul Fong, is Asian. Bonta is also Asian, and won the 2012 election by a
very narrow margin. We will need to wait for the registration information (
in March 2014) to analyze in more detail.
