I have a friend from Saudi Arabia who works for a contractor dealing with
earthwork related to drilling and workover operation. He is assigned a task
to update the company's standards/manual with corresponding US standards,
codes and/or regulations. I have no idea at all in that field. For example,
"the pit shall be scanned for NORM if recommended by the Radiation
Protection Unit of EPD, cuttings that contain more than 1 percent O & G by
weight, greater than 4 mmho/cm electrical conductivity, or fail the US EPA
TCLP (Method 1311) test shall not be buried on-site without approval of EED"
I don't even understand the above statement(O & G: oil and gas?), what types
of testing? time needed to run the testing? what standards to follow?
I really appreicate If anyone has similar procedures, standards, regulations
or just a place for the sources! if there is something he needs to buy, it
is fine too.
thanks a lot
