评审官员，这样导致很多州立大学以硬性指标而不是通过细读每个学生的申请材料来做
录取决定。安娜堡密西根大学当时实施的是一个150点数的录取评价系统，达到100点的
学生将会被自动录取

那所大学每年从大芝加哥地区公立高中招收3-5名学生.
如你所知，顶级私人大学录取 like Puzzle.
那一年，那所大学从芝加哥公立高中招la 3名, 城里,北郊，西郊 个 一名
城里, 录取la 我的朋友(Chinese). 北郊，西郊 9 录取 la 其他种族.
北郊: northbrook，西郊(naper...)

into. Admissions for those schools is on a 900 point scale – 300 points
from 7th grade grades, 300 points from 7th grade standardized tests, and 300
points from the 8th grade entrance exam.
Some schools, such as Northside and Payton, require students to have near
perfect grades and test scores to be admitted – this year, students
admitted to those schools on ability alone had an average score of above 899
.5!

Northside: Mean Tier 4 score last year 894, this year 897 (+4)
Young: Mean Tier 4 score last year 872, this year 884 (+12)
So, Northside, Payton and Young at least have
30% + 17.5 % (Tier 4) = 47.5%
(almost half) very, very smart kids.
This new policy, which has nothing to do with race, is very, very good!!
I believe, in a few years, when those kids graduate, those three schools can
compete with TJHSST!! |

For a more than a decade, the Chicago Sun-Times has based its exclusive
rankings of schools on average scores on state achievement tests, not on the
percentage who meet state standards — a measure that has come under
criticism.
Only 2011 reading and math results from the Illinois Standards Achievement
Tests and the Prairie State Achievement Exams taken last March and April
were analyzed. Results in those subjects can trigger sanctions under the
federal No Child Left Behind law.

要看孩子的兴趣是什么,单纯的TOP藤的没有可比性.如果去了MIT, Cal Tech的孩子难道
就没有去HPS或去Liber Art College的孩子好?再说UIUC工科专业有的也是排名很靠前
的.
我的同事孩子倒是上了Y,可读着读着学了历史...(当初可是MIT也录取了)以后当个学究
可以,但要当对社会科技改革的先锋是不可能的了.即使学医学法...也是工匠之才.很难
在科学界/工业界有大的建树了...因为没有基本SCIENCE的底子了.
就象某台湾来的孩子,家里资助上Y学音乐,毕业后街头卖唱.有意义吗?
