case, my company deducted my tax with the wrong amount last year!!

this is only Federal tax, there still state tax (3% this year for IL) and
social security tax and medicare tax. The total tax is more than 25K !!

to IRS. Anybody has similar experience? This is the biggest tax I owe since
I graduated. Not very sure it is real.

Maybe there is some deduction in the tax form that can make the tax lower? I
might miss some deduction?

发帖数: 885 | 14 I used the standard deduction, which is $5700. There is another deduction
called itemized deduction.
I also found that if you are married, then the tax is about 4K smaller than
when you are single. Maybe that is why my company reported wrongly (5K less
tax) to IRS?

发帖数: 166 | 16 你说那个结婚的是夫妻共同报税吧？两个人总共的收入和你一个人一样多，当然税就少
多了。一般没房贷啥的standard deduction也就行了。
你找个W4 calculator大致算下，看看你预扣的是不是比算出来的少很多。如果是的话
，就改下W4，每个工资单额外扣些钱吧。你要是到了年底真欠太多，没准IRS会找麻烦
。具体条款我一直也没搞清，问问干这个的，或是你们pay roll的人吧。W4你咋填没人
管，可是要钱的时候IRS可一点都不含糊。
