投了无数简历, 有几十个phone interview.过去的一年里有了4个大公司on site面试.
但结果都是

现在在一个偏research的地方工作了几年了,虽然做点产品,很早期的研究,但离市场
化有十万八千里,也就马上做不下去了. 想跳出这里.
这个 industrial 经验 这一步咋克服啊? 不进去就没经验, 没经验就进不去,这是死
循环啊.
这一步死活迈不出去.要憋死了.

发帖数: 333 | 2 感觉不是这个原因啊，公司叫你去on site， 肯定对你的背景了如指掌了，喊你去就是
看看你这个人怎么样，事先他们肯定知道你没有工业经验。
我的意思是楼主回忆一下，自己在on site面试的时候，有什么不妥当的地方，认人感
觉不好相处，或者让经理感到威胁，或者没有回答好问题，自己没有准备好问题。

发帖数: 2542 | 3 谢谢, 是应该反思一下了. 真的不了解这个到底是个借口 还是真的. 有没有工业界经
验应该在简历上很清楚. 但几个面试都搞成这样,很郁闷.面的是R&D 位置,这些人确实
都很能扯,扯 company culture, leading,work pressure, work philosophy, 偏偏几
乎没啥技术问题. 栽了两次后, 努力准备,勤学苦练这些扯的本事, 自以为最近这次扯
的挺成功,碰到个最能扯的,面试的时候他们突然出现 fire drill, 基本把这个人的时
间给占用了.剩下的谈的很开心,满心以为这次有希望,结果又是这个结果.

发帖数: 741 | 7 lz很强啊。其实面试的人根本对你的简历不熟，至少我面试几次都是这个感觉，他们都
不知道你做什么。很多时候咱们去面试assume人家看过你的简历是个大错误，一定要假
定人家没看你的简历，或者看了也没记住。 | l***i

发帖数: 2542 | 9 谢谢建议. 一般他们都手里拿着简历, 另一边一个小本,边问边记. 不过4个大的公司,
风格也不太一样. 一个也没搞到, 真是郁闷的不行.
最郁闷的是第一个业界第一大的公司, 面试了7-8个月了, 来了这么个 信
Briefly, we're interviewing 2 more candidates and then make a final decision
. This was delayed because the last candidate we selected based on the
interview decided not to take up the position. Essentially, you will be
considered along with the two new candidates, but in the mean time if you
get a job offer, I don't expect you to wait for our decision.

也别去那种黑砖窑小公司，除非你能在简历上把这一段遮掩过去。现在公司信息规模什
么网上都查得到， 人家一看你在那种公司干过，马上会鄙视你。
不好意思说了等于没说，总之一句话不容易。

发帖数: 2542 | 12 说的是实在话,很在理. 现在做着个title 不是薄厚,但和薄厚差不多的活,待遇也就比
薄厚好一点点, 还快要不行了.
就是不容易. 去烂地方不行,有gap不行,有卡也没用.

四个大公司都是找人做同一种材料，你没做过这种材料，还都拿到on site了

mostly BS.
There might be two reasons for your unsuccessful interview (1) one of the
candidates gained super strong endorsement from group leader, hire manager
or other key members; in most cases, if they strongly advocate for one
candidate, others would back off unless they have a reason. That said, if
you do not have any internal contact, but other candidates do, they would be
picked, thus before you go for interview, find out if you know anybody in
the company. (2) Your interview skills. first, presentation, a well-prepared
, passionate, crystal-clear presentation is very important, accent is not an
excuse for careless preparation. Keep in mind, the mindset of industrial
people is not the same as academic. second, your communication skills,
usually, people like bright, smart, easy going, not so aggressive, humble
person to work with. If they think you are self-centered, hard to talk, or
aggressively trying to climb up the ladder, they would not support your
candidacy.
Last but not least, if possible, dig deeper to your previous interview,try
to figure out what is the real reason, and then avoid making the same
mistake next time.

发帖数: 2542 | 18 当然 四个公司 做的是4种材料. 但我做过polymer,但确实没做过他们那种具体的
polymer(一个是涂料,一个是纤维,一个是gel, 一个是橡胶).
嗯, 搞了四个 万人以上的大公司的onsite, 却都失败了.
鄙视我吧!

candidates how to interview? Do you have a mentor from industry? Sometimes
it is due to some cultural ignorance. Small things like chewing with mouth
open will not get a job. |
