The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate independent research,
with the aim of developing novel organocatalysts and their application
toward new methodology development and further application to the synthesis
of bioactive complex molecules.
The ideal candidates are expected to have experience in the following areas:
Organic Synthesis
Asymmetric Catalysis
Development of new methodology
Organometallic Chemistry
The qualified students must have a B.S. degree in Chemistry or relevant

Scholarship:
The Department of Chemistry offers teaching assistantships to full-time
students.
Minimum Qualification:
Admission to the master's program requires an undergraduate degree in
chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or a related discipline, with a cumulative
GPA of 2.75 or of 3.00 for the last two years of
undergraduate work. Applicants seeking a Ph.D. must have a minimum grade
point average of 3.00 on a 4.0 scale, and must have a B.S. degree or an M.S.
degree in biochemistry, chemistry, or a related discipline.
TOEFL: International Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a
minimum score of
550 (written) or 213 (computerized) or 80 (Internet based)
Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
