发帖数: 1821 | 1 CACS Young Chemist/Scientist Award 2013, Calling for Submission
PURPOSE
The CACS Young Chemist Award Program was established by Tri-State Chinese
American Society (CACS) in 2003. The CACS Young Chemist Award is dedicated
to promoting chemistry and science as a career choice among young Chinese
Americans in the greater Tri-State area. CACS is proud to announce the Young
Chemist/Scientist Award 2013 program to recognize and support high school
students with outstanding accomplishments in chemistry and science, and to
encourage them to pursue studies in chemistry-related fields upon entering
college.
GENERAL GUIDELINES
The program will award undergraduate scholarships to outstanding students,
known as CACS Young Chemist Award. The candidates must be high school
students who will be college freshmen in the upcoming academic year (2014-
2015). The awards will be made, on the basis of the academic performance of
the candidates, to those who have outstanding potential for accomplishments
and intend to pursue careers in chemistry and science-related fields.
Each scholarship awards an one-time award of at least $200 towards tuition
payment. The program committee intends to award two or more CACS young
chemist awards each year. Nominees for this award must include in their
application package a statement of interest in career in a chemistry and
science-related field upon entering college.
ELIGIBILITY
To be considered for the CACS Young Chemist Award, a student must:
• Be a full-time high school senior for 2013-2014 school year who
plans full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college in
the upcoming academic year (2014-2015).
• Have a GPA of 3.3 or higher, a minimum SAT score of 2100 (out of
2400) and be in the top ten percentile of their graduating class.
• Be an offspring of a Tri-State CACS member.

Award recipients will be recognized and awards will be presented at the
Annual New Year Celebration organized by the Tri-State Chinese American
Chemical Society.
