We are engineering microorganisms to biosynthesize fuels, chemicals and
pharmaceuticals from renewable sugar. We work closely with Fortune 500
companies and startup companies. Our lab already has one startup company
that is highlighted by Chemical & Engineering News ( http://cen.acs.org/signin.html?resource=/content/cen/articles/91/i11/Ascenix-Make-Bio-Methyl-Methacrylate). We recently made another breakthrough in biodegradable polymers and are working on another startup company.
Required/Preferred Qualifications:
Prospective candidates should have PhD training in Chemical Engineering,
Biochemistry, or Microbiology. The position requires strong experience in
molecular cloning, protein engineering, microbial fermentation, bioreactor
scale-up and product analysis. We also expect the qualified applicants have
professional work ethic.
