The Department of Physics invites applications for a Research Assistant
Professorship in experimental physics.
Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree in physics, chemistry, or biology;
and (ii) experimental research experience in magnetic resonance spectroscopy
, magnetometry, or bio-sensing. Those with the following background are
preferred:
- Optically detected magnetic resonance, especially for color centers in
diamond;
- Single particle/molecule optical studies;
- Nano-plasmonics.
The appointee will work closely with faculty members in the Department in
research on multi-functional ultrasensitive sensing using optically detected
magnetic resonance of nanodiamonds and applications in nanoscale sensing of
physical, chemical and biological environments. Further information about
relevant research in the Department is available at http://www.phy.cuhk.edu.hk.
The appointee will be expected to demonstrate a strong record of research
accomplishments, potential for establishing significant externally funded
research programmes, and undertake light teaching duties at undergraduate
and postgraduate levels.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to three years
commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
