有关CAFA第一届金秋中国节的通知
亲爱的朋友们，
北卡华人联谊会(CAFA) 将于2012年9月22日（10am – 9pm）举办第一届金秋中国节。
作为首届活动的主办者，我们希望届时诸位华人携全家相约在北卡金秋中国节的聚会上
，欣赏华夏文化，品尝中华美食，一解故乡思情！
本次中国节举办地点将在State Fair Ground的Dorton Arena （http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dorton_Arena）。主办者为大家准备了丰富多彩的节目，包括8个小时的文艺演出，文化展览，棋牌比赛，交友活动。同时也为大家呈上各类精美的食品和中秋月饼。
目前正在积极地筹备文化艺术展览和吸引商家加盟。若您有兴趣展出您的个人收藏或者
推销您的产品或服务，请尽早与我们联系。若您有兴趣成为志愿者，请发邮件给我们。

received quite a few responses from MITBBS regarding volunteers. We really
appreciate friends' help and support!
To answer loveday's question, the $5 ticket is for everything (entry, show,
exhibition, etc.) except for the food. We will order food from Super Wok (闽
川一家）and 1-2 local restaurants. We only order food from reputable local
Chinese restaurants, but we also consider Americans may like some non-
traditional Chinese food. There will be some home-made delicious Chinese
food (风味小吃, will be able to feed over 500 people). Able (串吧）will cook
onsite and make delicious food for us.
BuBu has asked a good question. We had several discussions regarding
discounts for senior citizens. We found many places have defined people 50's
and older are senior citizens. If that's the case, we have to check many
people's ID at the entrance and create a lot of problems for us. So we
decided everyone older than 10 will have to buy tickets. I also believe it
will be a good idea to give people 65 and older some discounts. So I will
suggest to the organizing committee that CAFA food booth (not ABLE and home-
made food) to give 50% discount to whom 65 and older (we won't check IDs).
Another update to share with singles. Some singles from 3 local universities
and the Triangle would like to form a RTP single club. We will have a
booth for them at the event. If you are a single, please look for the single
club sign when you get there.

To make easier for general public, we signed a contract with E-ticket and
sell the event tickets online. $1 is their surcharge. We thought they will
charge $5 per ticket and give us $4. In fact, they added an extra dollar to
the ticket price and still give CAFA $5 per ticket.

Dear Friends:
Our long-awaited First Annual Chinese Harvest Moon Festival is just around
the corner. Friends from all round North Carolina are gathering together for
this exciting celebration. You will find lamb kebabs, spring rolls,
homemade mooncakes, tea eggs and all kinds of local snacks, along with
compelling Chinese performance and art collections, at over 20 vendors and
exhibitions, but most importantly is to meet new friends and enjoy the
happiness all together!
We also want to announce that Triangle Single Club (TSC) will officially
start up at the event, which is another initiative that aims to better serve
the community interest. We are here to call for all Triangle singles to
come and meet new friends, while looking for your romance during the day.
The event will be at Dorton Arena, State Fairgrounds in Raleigh on Saturday,
September 22, 2012 (10:00AM - 9:00PM).
Tickets are available at $5:00 each in advance, and $7.00 each at door.
Children 10 and under are free with company of an adult.

MITBBS. Over 3000 people showed up on Saturday. I truly agree with you that
we have a lot of room to make improvements, especially in the areas of
performance and food. CAFA needs new blood and we need younger members and
volunteers. I am going to call for volunteers for future CAFA events (all
kinds of activities). Hope we will have many young volunteers to join us.

Chinatown opening was much better and that was free... we 6 people spent $
30 for tickets and so disappointed.
