We are currently seeking an Associate Scientist in the DNA Analytics
group. This group supports several functions by providing timely
molecular analysis for a variety of plant tissues. The candidate in
this position will work in a team to prepare DNA for analysis using, among
other methods, real-time PCR. The candidate will design and execute
real-time PCR assays for defined targets and provide interpreted data to the
requesting customer. The ability to effectively communicate with
requesting scientists is critical. The person in this position will
also be expected to suggest and test improvements to the current processes.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Masters degree in Molecular Biology or related field -OR- &
nbsp;Bachelors degree in Molecular Biology or related field with 3 years of
laboratory experience.
Knowledge and experience designing and running real-time PCR assays.
Experience isolating nucleic acid from various tissues.
Experience running various assays for detection of nucleic acid.
Good communication skills with a strong customer focus.
Detail and accuracy oriented.
Ability to work in a team environment across multiple disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in molecular biology plus 4 years laboratory experience
-OR- BS degree in molecular biology with 7 years of laboratory experience.
Experience using qPCR to make copy calls and perform zygosity analysis in
plant tissue.
Experience isolating nucleic acid from plant tissue.
Experience performing RNA expression analysis.
Experience in lab automation. | h**********9
