get fired and their careers destroyed. Lawyers are vultures of the society
. They prey on the people who do not follow rules and force the system to
improve itself.
Power in most democratic country are distributed. Federal government couldn
't interfere with the running of local government. Public officials report
to their voters only. So, governer do not report to presidents. Local
mayer do not report to governers. Their governing powers are "parallel".
This issue has nothing to do with states and federal government. It is
strickly an issue of local town. If local school was found guilty, some
money might have to be arranged for the victims. However, the town doesn't
have infinite liability.
Where did the town get its money? Mostly property tax from local residents
and business tax. Can they hike up property tax dramatically? Probably, no
since it might need approval from local residents. How did the town get
some money if they need it badly? Selling bonds under the approval of
committes. Who buy the bonds? Banks. Why banks buy the bond? They want to
make money and they make sure the town has good credit and the ability to
pay them back. If the town couldn't get the money they wanted, they might
ended up declaring bankruptcy. It happened and probably will happen again
if laywers are too greedy. |
