听到一个问题: 如何选择office location.
回答是3个准则：
1. where you wanna live
2. where you feel comfortable with the colleagues
3. Industry practice area
第一点，对于没有在美国很多地方生活过的外国人，怎么判断的出比如Chicago or
Philadelphia, or New Jersey? or LA vs. SF 哪个更喜欢？
第二点就更虚了，申请人能见到几个不同office的人? 来学校的通常都是某一个office
的.
再说就见那2,3个,而且短短时间,就能判断和谁相处融洽?
第三点大致可以作为一个依据,不过客户通常也不是找local office, 要不也用不着
经常出差了,而且同种工业领域,也是很多office都可能接.
虽然号称是任何office都一样,但是每个office招人的需求和标准还是
有细微差别的吧.

1。难道大多数美国人都在很多城市生活过很多年吗？对城市的的偏好跟了解，可以来
自于旅游，同学朋友亲戚所在地，气候，文化，家人工作需要根爱好等等。这些都不是需要在那里生活才可以了解的。
2。申请的时候，会按照你得preference见到至少2个office的人。feeling
comfortable，跟谈恋爱一样，就是个感觉。没有什么科学依据，可也不需要什么科学
依据。
3。虽然在哪里都有任何industry，可还是有片重点。比如纽约的金融业，休斯敦的石
油业，芝加哥迪特律的汽车业，新泽西的制药业，肯定都相对多不少的。

1.你觉得在美国生活了5-6年的中国人和在美国长大的一样了解
什么地方适合生活?
我问的已经在里面上班的老美说他们也觉得这个很难把握,
他们都是找亲戚朋友多的地方.
2. 感觉是不需要什么科学依据,不过如果你找工作也不想做深点的调查研究,
似乎也轻率了吧.
同样, 一个老美说他当初通过同学,朋友,和同学的同学,朋友的朋友,打听了4,5个
office
的行事风格和人际相处情况才做的选择.
同学, 关键是**如果**不同的office招人指标和标准可能不同, 那么对于中国人生活都差不多的
地方, 你不想去个录取把握大的? 注意我的假设"如果".
当然, 如果你很牛, 随便投哪里都中,而且巨不讲究地方,那当然无所谓.
是需要在那里生活才可以了解的。

to live in San Fran, Chicago or New York. Cannot imagine anyone
struggling between places like Detroit, Cleveland vs. the above.
To me it's pretty easy to narrow down choices based on your preference
of city size, geography, weather, etc.
#2. You should do the same due diligence on the offices as your
American classmates. The consultants coming to your campus will
be more than happy to refer you to colleagues in the offices you

d have you fill out an elaborate sheet with dozens of entries. of course, a
t the end of the day, only your top 2 or 3 picks matter.
