the job market. He'll graduate this year.He clearly told me that the job
market
has become more and more tight. The starting salary has stayed put for the
last
two years. The vacant jobs of top 50 schools are being filled quickly.
Actually
I got the same message from several persons including a Finance professor.
The offers from industry have also become less attractive. I think we should
be
prepared for not-so-easy job | Q*Q

here have PhD finance programs, do you know how many positions there are each
year? in my current school, 1 student in 4th year, 0 in 3th year (used to have
2 chinese ladies, but one quit and one transferred to CS), 4 in 2nd year, and
2 in 1st year. I believe in most schools, they will enroll 3-5 students each
year.
How is the economic phd job market? only top 20 get jobs?
