But if there're plenty of websites available, how could people make so much
money just by selling them?

do people really need update the websites on a continue basis in order to
keep the websites? I am really confused, since I've already had the websites.

every year)
But Technicall your registra company could steal your domain, just
technically.
Because they register everything with DNS on your behalf
websites.
