Diseases & Pathology at University of Florida College of Veterinary
Medicine.The research focuses on the vaccine development.
We utilize various molecular techniques, including genetic manipulation of
Y.
pseudotuberculosis to enhance protective immune responses against plague
challenge. A
successful candidate will develop Y. pseudotuberculosis as novel oral
vaccines inducing
universal protection against plague and yersiniosis and investigate immune
responses induced
by the oral Y. pseudotuberculosis vaccines.
Requirements
Applicants should have completed a Ph.D. in microbiology, immunology,
medical sciences or
other related field. Preference will be given to individuals
with strong experience in mice as an
infectivity model, BSL3/ABSL3, bacterial pathogenesis, immunology, genetic
regulation, and
transcriptomics & proteomics, along with decent peer reviewed
publications. Competitive
candidates will need to be independently motivated, creative, and be a
willing team member.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with a command of the
English language
are required.
