Health Science Center at El Paso. The major interests of our lab are: 1. We
have independently developed a CRISPR-Cas9 system-based strategy to perform
genome-wide knockout screening to study various biology processes (Cell Rep
2015,12(4):673-83). 2. Using a new approach developed in our lab to study
how pri-miRNAs are recognized and processed (PNAS 2013, 110: 20687–92). 3.
Optimizing CRISPR-Cas9 system (Genome Biology 2015, 16:280). 4. Developing a
functional cure for HIV infection (Mol Ther 2015, 23(2):310-20). More

based genome-wide screening project but is flexible to accommodate the
