发帖数: 86 | 1 下周有一个computational biology phd program的面试。系里小米说面试环节
有4到5个，每个半小时。。。本人以前并无生物背景，以前的专业跟数学统计之类的相
关。版上有没有过来人可以给点建议呢？比如对于我这种背景的学生，面试老师一般会
问什么问题？会临时出个什么题目让你想么？还是仅仅聊一聊关于这门学科的理解以及
问一问个人问题？
PS，本人在一个月前已经有过一次这个学校的电面，那时候寒假在家。现在返回
美国了，所以要本土面。。。我也不理解为什么面了一次还要面？ |

这次的面试看上去像是相亲，和几个金主谈一谈，双方互相了解一下，看看能不能建立
包养关系。

之前的电面问了我对他们program的了解，他还问我除了他们之外我还申没申请别的学
校，我说我还申了我bf的学校，但bf快毕业了，所以我去哪里读书差别并不是很大，然
后他又问如果bf的学校和他们学校都给我offer，我去哪里，我说我去你们那儿，他还
跟我说可以bf毕业之后去他们那儿做post doc之类的，感觉蛮友好的。
所以这次面对面interview，我也不知道还能被问些什么啊，专业性的东西么？

program wanted to know the following through the interview:
1. Your background--in particular research/field experience level
2. your passion/motivation for science
3. your communication skill
4.your potential to be PhD student overall...
but dependent on the interviewers, they could chat anything with you...nothing particular, it is all about making a good impression and demonstrating you are experienced(if not, you are smart:)), motivated and agreeable and have potentials...

发帖数: 86 | 5 十分感谢！但是我觉得这4方面的问题，当初三周多前电面的时候已经问过了啊，所以
我不太明白为什么还要专门安排一天多的interview，是继续了解我考验我的成分比较
多，还是大家互相见个面，看看眼缘就拍板。。。不过可能也有区别吧，因为电面只有
一个老师，这次面对面是4个多。。。

发帖数: 2818 | 6 paper is different from phone; phone is different from face to face, and one
person is different from a group:)))...have you been to any onsite
recruitment meetings...it is fun...it is two way interview...pretty much the
earlier invitees are their favorites. The onsite is also a chance the
school trys to impress the candidates so that they would come...so the
interview process is both academic and entertaining:))...As long as one
doesn't mess up(like got drunk at the party...), pretty much one is in (for
the first one/two batches)...
