A good friend of mine is Swedish and we were comparing the differences
between mating habits of Sweden and New Zealand. So here are our
observations.
Courtship
NZ: The guy will hold the door for you. He'll even walk on the inside of
sidewalk to protect you from being splashed by cars.
Sweden: Guys go first. They don't think about it.
Dating
NZ: Guys will usually buy the meal on the date.
Sweden: Everyone pays for their own (go dutch).
Relationship
NZ: Couples buy houses, have kids all without being married. No order or
rules. NZ recognizes couples as de facto relationship after 2 years of being
together, they also recognize same sex marriage.
Sweden: Same. No rules about the way to do it. Recognize same sex marriage.
Proposal
NZ: Man usually proposes to the woman. She wears an engagement ring. Ideally
romantic.
Sweden: Couple decide to get married, shop for rings together. They both
wear an engagement ring. Pretty practical.
Marriage Ceremony
NZ: Father usually gives away daughter to groom
Sweden: Couple walks down aisle together | D*a 发帖数: 6830 | 2 扶门那个,法国这里陌生人都互相扶,大楼里面或者地铁里都是。算社交礼仪。 |
