postdoc就像technician (实验室没有technician)。两年多了，做了好多projects,没
有太novel的。有的有些结果，中途老板觉得没有多大意思就terminate了。浪费我很多
时间。我的工作大多是mouse work。老板经常变主意。有的时候今天告诉你做这个，过
两天就问我：你为什么要做这个。
现在手头上3-4个projects。有些data,但是还不足以发文章。最近老板又让我做一个
knockou 老鼠。我觉得postdoc 应该focus on一两个projects.但是显然在这个实验室
是不可能的。
另外是我非常恼火的是整个实验室的postdoc的projects多是overlap的。因为老板今天
会叫这个postdoc做这个实验，过两天叫另外一个postdoc做同一个project的另外一个
实验。
现在有点进退两难：另外找个实验室的话，现在的工作都白做了，找好实验室也很难。
留下来得话，就是一个technician。
真心求各位建议 |

己，你说呢
手上的data要是还算给力，抓紧时间收尾投出去同时找下家。否则就长痛不如短痛，博后

我做的是in vivo 老鼠工作，收尾至少需要1-2年的

发帖数: 1704 | 6 这个。。。有点经验的人都清楚该怎么应付的吧，何况你也提到了你老板的特点了，如
果不是那么push，也常常健忘犯糊涂的话，对付过去不难的，尤其是如果你有足够吸引
力的主data的时候。
就算是in vivo，一个项目连头带尾搞个4年也是有点夸张啊，CNS级别的另说

not seasoned enough for his own sake...I don't see an easy way out here...
he can switch or whatever... unless LZ works on his own problem or has to
work for luck---find a nice and mentoring boss...and we all know there is
virtually none out there unless one fights for it...Well, there was one like Mr. TingXi Liu, but so many hate him even after his death--what a world!

ownership of your own career/life...at this point: your project/training:
bottomline: know your goals, your study:the state of the field, the
question, where to go and how to go, and then execute it...as a postdoc, you
are not supposed to allow your boss to fool/push you around like that...I
would consider it were largely my fault if that happened to me...change asap
unless you have a better exit plan(: pretend to be naive for a good
publication or whatever...) I have seen some postdoc working like PI's hands
and with great records on paper have no guts/desire to go for job...There
are some lucked out but i don't know how far they could go...

I have a co-worker who moved from another lab on campus to our lab because
his previous mentor lost funding and he had to have a green-card to continue
working in US (he maxed out his H1b). so my boss was willing to help him.
he joined our lab with his own project that his previous mentor allowed him
to take. my boss promoted him to a faculty position so that our university
could support his green card application (The university does not support
green card for postdocs). The deal was that he would have 50% effort working
on his own project and 50% effort working for my boss. Although his project
is in the broad field of my boss's interest, i don't think it is very
closely related to my boss's projects.
Anyway, my point is that you need find a nice supportive mentor for your
career given your current situation.

想办法把自己的想法和老板沟通，他应该也是想出paper的，至少有common interest。
不行的话，当断不断，必然深受其害。

postdoc不会影响他的。
其实还有一个比较大的问题是对实验结果的解释上。我做出来得东西如果不符合他的
hypothesis，他会挑你这个那个。
