A US company that encourages researchers to outsource
their experiments online last week launched its eBay-like website,
scienceexchange.com. Science Exchange, based in Palo Alto, California, hopes
that scientists will post experiments on the website, and that other
researchers and institutions with the facilities and expertise will submit
bids to do the work. Elizabeth Iorns, the company's co-founder, says that
this could speed up research and use facilities more efficiently.
