same benefits (as formal employees do). Benefits: retirement, health, etc.
You may inquire HR about it.

I chose research associate
research associate is considered as formal staff, benefits such as 401k and
insurance are much better. Also, my university does not sponsor green card
application for postdoc no matter how long you stay.

如果是H1了就无所谓了
postdoc因为不是正式员工，不是一个job，有地方就不给办H1，只给J1
research scientist就是个Job，可以给你办H1
