It’s not just about the basketball in Brooklyn, it’s about the revenue
potential from a billion fans living in China.
That seemed to be Stephon Marbury’s takeaway from the Jeremy Lin signing,
with the ex-Nets and Knicks guard tweeting that “The NBA used my man to
attract the Asian Market. I don’t think the money is about basketball.”
Lin agreed to a three-year, $36 million deal with the Nets — a big contract
but certainly not a crazy one, like the $64 million Timofey Mozgov got from
the Lakers or the $120 million Nic Batum is getting — and one of Marbury’
s followers suggested the Brooklyn’s money would’ve been better spent on
the Coney Island product, leading Marbury to chime in.
“He can play but he was a puppet,” Marbury said of Lin. “He came from no
where to so say when I have boys way better.”

“It was amazing 2 C the nonsense the NBA pulled when he played 8 good games
. Cats have had 10 great years and no (love),” Marbury continued.
The 39-year-old added that adding Lin was a way “to draw some type of
revenue ... that’s an expensive arena they got out there.”
Sounds like Starbury wasn’t a big fan of Linsanity. |
