from nowhere. Although high p&r worked very well against MIA's agressive
defense, STAT and Chandler had only combined 17 shots compared to melo's 26.
It's pathetic to watch Knicks' one-on-one play possession after possession
while MIA was making easy shots all night long (DW even blew a wide open
dunk). So who should we blame?
To answer this question, let's look back what happened in the past couple
of months.
1. 8-15 to start the season, D'Antoni in hot seat.
2. Linsanity, 7-1 without melo in the lineup, Lin got "Player of the month"
in Feb.
3. Melo returned, 2-2 before all star break.
4. On Mar 6, JR Smith tweets "First time I heard good game in 6yrs from my
head coach! This Man gives me confidence!", then he played like shit and was
almost out of rotation.
5. 6-game losing streak.
6. D'Antoni stepped down on Mar 15 (trade deadline), Woodson took over.
7. STAT played his best game in the first 7 games (6-1) and was the leading
scorer while melo played fantastic defense but couldn't find the rim most of
the time, Lin was very clutch late in the 4th quarter.
8. Suddenly, both STAT and Lin went down.
9. Melo and JR got complete freedom from Woodson, taking combined 43.9% of
total team shots (559 of 1274, including blow-out games). The team went 12-5
and melo got "Player of the month" in April.
10. The first 2 playoff games against MIA, melo and JR shot combined 28-69
from the field while STAT and Chandler shot 14-27.
What we learn from these:
1. melo, STAT and Lin all can carry the team if they play their games.
2. they seemed not trying to find a way to "co-exist", instead everyone
wants to control the coach and team to be able to play their game and to be
the hero of the team.
3.meo and JR (maybe also Woodson) are the reason D'Antoni leaves.
4. It's not impossible to say Lin (and probably STAT) would play through
injury if D'Antoni stays.
So the only conclusion I can draw from these is "POLITICS" ! It ruins the
team chemistry and the Knicks will never win anything if they keep enjoying
playing political games off the court. |

阳最好的2年没拿总冠军。过那么多年一点也没改啊。
