BOSTON — Was it a dirty play and is he a dirty player?
We all can reach a consensus on the second issue. If you study the man’s
history, then you know Dwyane Wade is as clean as Big Baby Davis‘ dinner
plate. Sure, we saw Wade ram into a Paul Pierce pick earlier in the series.
However, Wade has never intentionally bruised anyone except Charles Barkley
‘s ego in those T-Mobile commercials. He should not be mentioned in the
same breath as Andrew Bynum, who purposely pulled a punk move against Dallas
because the Mavericks were kicking his behind with a steel-toed boot.
But: Did Wade try to take down Rajon Rondo and, in a roundabout way, cause
Rondo’s left elbow to dislocate?
That’s more of a gray area. Please excuse me; I’d rather not see replays
of the contact between Wade and Rondo to make more of an informed opinion. I
’m squeamish that way (and don’t understand why folks love seeing replays
of athletes breaking a limb, or why TV insists on showing it more than once)
. One replay was enough to know Wade was trying to use Rondo to break his
own fall. But also not trying to hurt Rondo. Does that make sense?
Had Rondo avoided injury on the play, then it wouldn’t be a discussion. No
harm, no suspicion. But while none of the Celtics are pressing the topic,
there was discussion in the home locker room about the incident and Wade’s
intent. Let’s just say Wade has fewer fans on the Celtics now than before
the incident. And you can understand why; had it happened to Wade, Miami
would have the same reaction.
Wade, who is generally a cheerful, engaging and accommodating guy, gets
terse when the question of his intent is even raised.
“Did anyone watch the replay?” he asked. “I’ve watched it. I’m done.
Next question.”
And this: “What, are (the Celtics) going to beat me up? For what?”
Strange: When the playoffs begin, you hear TV commentators criticize players
who allow others to dribble down the lane without delivering a hit. Pau
Gasol has taken all kinds of grief for being soft. And then, when somebody
does get physical (yes, there is a line that can be crossed, but still), the
uproar is deafening.
How about everyone just play tough but clean, playoffs or not, and TV
commentators stick to telling us the Celtics are too old?
Don’t expect any retaliation in Game 4 from the Celtics, other than trying
to pull even in the series. A more appropriate response should come from
Rondo himself, with another gutsy effort on one 100-percent healthy arm.
That message would go a long way in this series.
Because what could be more satisfying for the Celtics than to take down Wade
and Miami after an 0-2 start?

不去看就算了，畢竟不是一個球隊的。但是馬上做“與我無關”的動作真的讓人看不起。

科比拿了总决赛mvp之后铁肘确实不怎么搞了吧
皮尔斯mvp之后打球也感觉稳了好多
按说总决赛mvp真的能改变一个的心态吧
