last great facilitating PG to win a championship?
It has been a long time since the NBA assists leader hoisted the o'brien
trophy with his team, the last one to do it was Magic with the '86-87 lakers.
The last semi-allstar PGs to win are parker and billups (kidd was a former
shell of himself last year so I didn't count him in), to find the last time
an all NBA guard won it all you also have to go back to the 80s when isaiah
took his pistons over magic and the lakers.
Pretty interesting, and sad, to think great PGs like Stockton, Payton and
Nash never won the championship they so deserve | m******s

发帖数: 18578 | 3 Chauncey Billups is 5-time all-star, 2004 Final MVP, Tony Parker is 4-time all-star, 2007 Final MVP, both of them are great PGs and Lin would be extremely lucky to reach their heights.
And John Stockton should win a champion, the only reason he didn't win was Michael Jordon. If Stockton-Marlone duel were born 10 years later or earlier, they will have their champions.
All in all, a great PG cannot win champions by himself, but a great PG is definitely a huge + for the team's chance to win champions, NBA is like jigsaw, you need all the pieces to win a champion.
A great PG can bring out the most from his teammates, but if his teammates are average players at best, you cannot expect them to win a champion.
