Linsanity.com was bought by Jeremy Lin’s high school coach years ago

In the post Super Bowl dog days of February, the internet needed someone to
step to the forefront. Someone to segue from the “Tebowing” and “Bradying
” phenomenon that has become so disgustingly common the last few months.
Enter Jeremy Lin and LINSANITY. In the last week, the seldom used guard has
taken the NBA by storm scoring 76 points, dishing out 25 assists and leading
the New York Knicks to three consecutive wins.
Ahead of tonight’s big matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers, Linsanity has
reached its zenith (or nadir, depending on your viewpoint) with Lin trending
on every imaginable search engine the abyss of the internet has to offer.
Someone, a smart lad at that, was so positive that Linsanity would become “
a thing” that they bought the domain years ago. Here’s the info from their
website.
Having long ago been declared terminally LinSane, we have followed Jeremy
Lin’s career since his days at Palo Alto High School always firmly
believing that his time would come and that the world would know our
LinSanity. And, if you’re as truly LinSane as us, these TEES are just what
the doctor ordered. Welcome to LinSanity.com… the home for all your
LinSanitees.
Family member? Not really. According to a tipster, the domain owner is Lin’
s old high school coach from Palo Alto, Drew Slayton (he was an “official”
“unofficial” assistant during Lin’s years) . A man, who by the looks of
it, just hit the virtual lottery.
*UPDATE*
Just got an email from Andrew Slayton. Site was purchased on July 17th, 2010
and traffic just went through the roof this week.
We are just trying to enjoy the Jeremy Lin Show and have a bit of creative
fun at the same time – as a writer, the T-Shirts and The Book of Jeremy
that I am writing on the site are a blast for me but not nearly as much fun
as watching Jeremy deal on Deron Williams. Jeremy has worked his tail off to
get where he’s at … and he definitely deserves the Linsanity. Jeremy is
going GLOBAL!
