a proven shit when Angels acquired him. It was ridiculous for
Angels to eat his contract given his pathetic performance.
How much did Blue Jays eat to offload Rios, who was and still
is much better than Wells. Angels was pretty much giving free
money to Jays. On top of that, with Hunter in the team, why
did Angels even need a cf? Even worse, Napoli was always
a proven homerun threat. MS used his BS of "defensive skills"
to ship Napoli as if he was bigger garbage than Wells.
ps: I'm still convinced Angels is doomed by Pujols. Imagine
where Angels would have been if they didn't get Trout and Frieri.
I can hardly see them getting more than 70wins without those 2.
And Pujols can only get worse given his age and PED usage.

Big spending teams all suffer from bad contracts. Look at Yankees, RSox,
Phillies. No exceptions. Now joining them are Angels and Dodgers.
Not every big spending team is luck enough to hit a Trout jackpot though.
