about 200 innings. per inning wise, closers are paid a lot.
I think closers are paid for this mental ability as well as pitching
ability. and pitching is secondary. that is why they get paid so
much.

特别是像客场只领先一球的时候上场
相信很多一流先发也不一定能搞定
所以真正好用的closer并不多
这几年ROY老出现closer也就不难理解了
体现在fantasy上面，就是大家早早就开始抢那唯数不多的几个一流closer

bell上赛季的so/9掉了很多，可能是个危险的信号

average starters. for a starter, 30 is just the start of his
prime. it is rare to have a guy like papelbon who has so many
years of closing experience at such a young age.
madson presents a minimal risk. I agree with you. His skillset
translates very well towards the future. and believe or not,
he was the second best reliever in the last five or six years
stats wise. the best is of coz mariano rivera. that is probably
how boras will argue his case.
btw, madson's whip is not great. being a groundball pitcher,
he benefited greatly from the superior infield defense of the
Phillies.

but kept blowing saves when Lidge was out. I just stopped
trusting his mentality even if he had 1 or 2 good years in reasume.

has only one year under his belt as a full time closer.

實在沒人用的時候用一堆廢料有時也能整出不錯的
但是要是真沒有能用的還是很頭疼
所以有錢的球隊一般都不冒這個風險
花錢找個肯定能用的搞定,算是買保險
