back to the years with the Mariners. One may say he is due eventually, but
he has blown so many chances already.
is he still a gold-glove caliber SS? If not, i don't see why Redsox should
sign him for $30M. they could get a top 2 starter and a good slugger for
that money.

huh? he is the highest paid/"best" player on all the clubs he was with (
except for the first few years with the Mariners), and I cannot even think
of one game-changing hit/play from him in the postseason. Unfair? I don't

what can i say? Mariners is a sinkhole for bullpen pitchers. You look at
their line-up in 96-98, and you wonder how in the world they didn't win WS.
Varitek means nothing to them at the time -- we had the best defensive/game-
calling catcher at the time (Dan Wilson).
Sigh. that line-up. ARod, Griffey, Martinez, Buhner.
Starting pitching: Big Unit, Moyer...
