Jason Giambi 最近出現在 Yankee Stadium，........关於他的良性肿瘤，最近有谣言传
出来是 pituitary gland (脑下垂体) ，也许这是之前一直不愿意公布他的肿瘤位置的原
因。这个部位的肿瘤常被跟 anabolic steroid 及 human growth hormone 的使用连在一
起，这有可能是 Giambi 之前不愿意公开的缘故，因为这只会为他引来一大堆的怀疑和指
控。New York Daily News 这篇报导同时指出没有明确的医学证据证明使用这些药物和这
个肿瘤的因果关系。
讽刺的是：治疗这个肿瘤的方式之一是使用 corticosteroids，一种不会影响他在球场上
表现的类固醇。据 Daily News 这篇文章说 Yankees 得到了 MLB 的许可之後让 Giambi
使用这种治疗方式。我对医学所知非常有限，该文说这是治疗这种肿瘤非常普遍的方式。
