me he is a better pitcher than Pettitte.
However, that is not the point. Some players are not treatable. They just
have done too much for your clubhouse and they deserve respect from ownership.
It is just like Phillies would have never tried to trade Schmidt. | f*r

in the monument park since 1996
He's hyped to be another Whitey Ford...but why not? He's jsut 31 years young
but already have 13 playoff wins
Yankees has a tradition to chase old but proven, insured but tough, pitchers.
Now Wells is the only southpaw in the rotation, could be a big question mark,
just like Cubs rotation...well, cubs even don't have one

发帖数: 313 | 4 Andy Pettitte's career winning record does not speak too much.
That is what I believe. He is a tough pitcher, without any
doubt, but playing for Yankees and having run supports like
he has had in years diminish the value of his W totals.
I think Yankees made some decent moves this off-season. Now they
have Mussina, Kevin Brown, Javier Vazquez, Jon Lieber and Wells. This
group, barring injury, is better than what RSOX has to offer, if
season starts today. My problem with Yankees is boss seems to

发帖数: 936 | 5 I think this shows the re-construction of the Yankee team is coming very soon.
Consider Joe Torre believes in Pettitte that much but Pettitte leaves Yankee
just like that will be some impect on the team. If next year Joe can't bring
back another AL east champ and maybe world series champ, he will be next.
Just so sad to see old core player leaves like that. Not a good thing to this
team no matter what kind replacement they bring in.

Pettitte is one over-rated pitcher, without his post-season wins
and that kind of run support he used to get, he's no difference
to those tie 2 pitchers.
however he really fits Yanks well during all these years, some
guys may be better pitcher than him but may never adjust themselves
to pitch well in Yank Stadium, thus I believe Yanks made a mistake
by letting Pettitte go ...
