为啥是"读"个博士后?博士后是种工作位置,找到合适的实验室做就好了.
光通信行情我就不知道了,不过既然是工作,那就跟找工作一样了.看
相关专业谁招博士后就去递简历喽.

optical network and network survivability.And I have just graduated. Now I am
looking forward to having a post-doc position to continue my research. Because
I am not familiar with the situation here, so want to get some information.

发帖数: 185 | 6 It's totally up to your career goal. If industry is where you want to get
involved, I don't think doing a postdoc in Optical will help much with that,
as you are not exposed to fancy names of technologies. If you are oriented to
academia jobs, I think Optical Networking is an area that still has potential
to generate lots of papers.

I will try to finish all my research this Summer.
After that, whenever Ifind a position I will go.
On the other hand, my current research topic is really tough!
I bet I will spend another Ph.D. to fully finish it. But since
I will not spend another Ph.D., I will not fully finish it. :)
If I fully finish it, I will become famous, But since I will not
fully finish it, I will not become famous. :(

You can do postdoc if you truly want to finish this piece of work which can
make you a big name. :) I look forward to that moment to come, then I would
boast to others saying hey this guy used to be my classmate.

A job is the most important for me.
But frankly speaking, at least nowadays, there is less and less
room for exciting research in Univ. Maybe we are in the eve of sth,
but now it is really a dark time, particularly in transmission.
Those giants like bell lab, tyco, ... just have too much powers,
sweep away almost every interested area before others can even respond.
So when I found my current project is seldom touched by industry, I
was very happy. But now they be
