发帖数: 476 | 2 we are just doing fine. basically three phases to adapt life here.
1) honeymoon, sometimes called x8 period
2) headache period, home work, project, term paper,.... feeling bad.
3) jobhunting/advisor seeking, busy with resumes, talks, flattering bosses
but life become a little easier
after that, no much difference from that in China. you can drive new
cars, yet you have to endure the junk food.
the air/water is cleaner than that of Beijing though.

i think i am just working for my future so that i have to endure the
monotonous life for 3 to 4 years for my Ph.D. i do not want to
graduate
for a MS since i have already got one in bupt.
anyway, sometimes i think the life here is good. if i can go back
twice
a year, i think it will be better. |

but if you like your own area or do not like networking, why change
your major.
i like my area and i am sure after my ph.d. i can find a job in CA,
mainly aim
at san hose, 10k is well paid?

发帖数: 476 | 12 San Jose. 10k is only for walmart cart-collectors. :)) I think yours should
be 100k, althogh mostly the entry-level can get 80-90k.
