这样做是不是很难？如果申请一般要提前多少时间开始？

不过现在J1出来需要三思。最近听说正在修改新的法律，说要延长J1身份年限，大概是5
年，但是5年后不能WAIVER掉TWO YEARS
RESTRICTION，必须回国。另外说J1学生的配偶J2不能读书或者工作。当然，如果是工作J
1的话，我就不清楚了。基本上都是在世界日报上看来的消息。请到别处核实。

years restriction是什么意思啊？其实我对J1一点都不了解。

rule. that means, after 3 years of the J1 visa( the J1 status can only be
valid for about 3 years in the states, in this 3 years, J1 visa holder must
switch to other visa status such as F1 or H1 or whatever is leagual
status---MUST HAVE THE TWO YEARS RESTRICTION WAIVERED FIRST), if after 3 years
the J1 cannot get the waiver, then he/she must leave US, and in the following
two years, he/she is not allowed to get any vis

So the J1 visa holder must waiver the two years restriction before he/she
switch to H1/F1 if i unstandstood correctly. but how to waiver that restriton?
is it easy to do?
as I know, the J1 visa holder from china is under the restriction of two year

if this J1 is sponsored by the government's funding, basically there is no way
to get the waiver;but if this J1 is sponsored by the professor in the US
most of them at least as I know most of them have already gotten their waiver
..(the government's funding means chinese government's funding or so-called
gong1 pai4)
there might be some complicated procedures relate to the waiver, you can check
it out in internet(for example, INS's website?), or you can ask the OISSS of
your school
