Judge orders massive recall of Ford vehicles
(AP) October 11, 2000 - An Alameda County judge today ordered a massive recall of 1.7 million Ford vehicles in California to replace ignition systems which could cause them to stall.
It's the first time a recall of motor vehicles has been ordered by a judge rather than a government agency.
The Center for Auto Safety estimated that any California recall alone would cost Ford at least
