Don't see that has anything to do with the
shock, but here it is:
A shock is the cylindral object that goes
straight up (well not exactly straight up
but pretty straight) the wheel well, it
contains either compressed gas or liquid,
the purpose is toabsorb the vibration
of the road abnormalities.
Shocks can be expensive, and without proper
equipment it can't be done yourself, if you're
not carefully enough the deadly energy in the
spring can unload on your head (front coil-over
struts).
