Honda Odyssey Model Year 2005 Through 2009 Purchasers & Lessees File Class
Action Lawsuit Complaint Against Honda Over Allegedly Defective Torque
Converters.
A class action lawsuit has been filed against American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
, Honda North America, Inc. and Honda Motor Company, Ltd. (“Honda Motor”
or “Honda” or “Defendants”) in the United States District Court for the
Central District of California (styled Laura Heintz v. American Honda Motor
Co., Inc., et al Class Action Case No. CV11-09311), alleging, among other
things, that Honda designed, manufactured, distributed, marketed, sold and
leased model year 2005 through 2009 Honda Odyssey vehicles with defective
torque converters that suddenly and without warning prevent certain Honda
Odyssey vehicles from accelerating or maintaining their speed, according to
the Honda Odyssey Torque Converter class action lawsuit complaint.
The Honda Odyssey Torque Converter class action lawsuit complaint is
reportedly brought on behalf of a putative class consisting of the following
persons, unless otherwise excluded:
All purchasers and lessees of any 2005 through 2009 Honda Odyssey vehicles
who reside in the United States (the “Class”).
All Members of Class I who are “consumers” within the meaning of
California Civil Code section 1761(d) (the “CLRA Sub-Class”)
The Honda Odyssey Torque Converter class action lawsuit complaint reportedly
asserts claims for alleged violations of the California Consumer Legal
Remedies Act, violations of unfair business practices act, fraud, breach of
written warranty under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, and breach of express
